How to find your computers IP Address in Windows 7 and Windows Vista

This tutorial will provide instructions on finding your local computer's IP address in Windows 7 and Windows Vista. If you are asked for the WAN (Wide Area Network) IP Address you will need to log into your router.  Or you can use our "what's my IP Address tool".

 

  1. Click Start.
  2. Type "CMD" in the search bar.
  3. Hit Enter on the keyboard.
  4. When the command prompt appears type "IPCONFIG" and hit enter on the keyboard.
  5. You will be able to see your local IP address under IPv4.
  6. If you require more details you can type "IPCONFIG /ALL" and hit enter on the keyboard.
